About

Austin McCormick is a multi-disciplinary artist from the Southern California mountains, working primarily in Los Angeles.  Having been raised both on construction sites and in a ballet school, Austin has been influenced by process, craftsmanship, music, and movement.  After graduating as valedictorian from Art Center College of Design, Austin started his career as an artist, fabricator, and illustrator.  His work ranges from abstraction to representational, and functional to decorative.

Austin explores concepts of “work”, and the environmental impact of the art world through abstraction and use of recycled materials from his experience in fine art fabrication. Austin’s work in illustration varies from playful cartoons to intricate visual renderings of poetic narratives in music. McCormick’s exploration of mediums include: drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, woodworking, and sculpture. In layering these disciplines, Austin blurs the borders of fine art, illustration, and craftsmanship creating a body of work that redefines what it means to be an artist in the present.

Outside of client/commission work, Austin also produces limited edition prints & apparel.  To get in touch, reach out via email (austintmcc@gmail.com) or stay up to date with my work on Instagram @austin_mccormick.
